THE HATHART STORY
In 2015, Hathart Founder Catherine Watts spoke with a singer who was facing hardships in life because she had been unable to find enough time to write her music and also network effectively. Being a former classically trained singer herself, Catherine decided that she not only wanted to create a platform for artists to further their careers, she also wanted to give back while doing it.
Wanting to help, Catherine created Hathart, a company that would donate $1 for every purchase made. What began as a simple idea has now evolved into a social enterprise that helps to address the needs of the entire arts community.
What Hathart Does
Hathart is the social enterprise platform created for the performing and visual arts community and all art lovers.
Hathart is a community for artists to learn, earn, shop, sell, connect, and create. Hathart allows users to post portfolios, receive feedback from other users, and to find jobs or short-term gigs. Hathart’s goal is to improve the lives of artists by creating a centralized location to meet. Besides that, we want to facilitate collaboration with other artists and to help all users to find work.
Most importantly, Hathart was founded to help artists realize their dreams. We envision a world where artists have more time to create and perfect their art. Therefore, Hathart is the place to go in order to leverage your experience in the arts into a profitable career.
How We Give Back
We are extremely proud to announce that we donate $1 for every transaction made on Hathart.
This means that every single time you buy you can make a difference in someone’s life.
We have chosen to donate to the National Endowment for the Arts. In recent years the federal government has been attempting to cut funding for the arts. We at Hathart believe that the arts are vital to economic, social, and cultural advancement and want to help push back. If you’d also like to give back, please visit the National
Endowment for the Arts.
